per week, Days of the week/hours worked will be based on position
requirements / Flexibility required. Position may require to work
nights/weekends on occasions. Expected Schedule: Monday - Friday
12:00pm - 8:00pm Primary Purpose: The Independent Living
Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Residential &
Individualized Services and functions according to the policies
established by the Board of Directors. The Independent Living
Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation
of our independent living curriculum, establishing staff support
for the supportive housing, In Home Supports (IHS), and safety net
services, directly aiding in the implementation of enabling
technology, and supervising the assigned Supportive Housing and In
home supports programs. This person will remain current with trends
and best practices related to providing services for persons with
disabilities with the goal of maximizing the potential of each
individual Essential Functions: • Responsible for the development
and implementation of our independent living curriculum, to aid
supportive housing candidates in reaching higher levels of
independence. • Direct and assist staff in planning, coordinating,
and implementing comprehensive services necessary for optimal
growth, development, and care of individuals. • Assist in
recruitment of and supervision of direct support professionals
working in Supported Housing, safety net and IHS services. •
Provides supervision and support to supportive housing and IHS
individuals including regular team meetings, in assigned individual
IP meetings, training oversight and habilitative process oversight.
• Work with the support staff, as well as the individual’s
supported to increase knowledge and understanding of enabling
technology and digital literacy to help increase independence.
Develop expertise in Grandcare and other existing assistive
technology used in CCARC services. • Ensures independent living
support, training and education to both staff and individuals to
provide the safest environment possible while allowing shared
responsibility amongst the individual and their team. • Maintains
open lines of communication with the Assistant Director of
Residential & Individualized Services regarding information,
issues, and recommendations regarding Supportive Housing program. •
Work collaborative with the Assistant Director of Residential &
Individualized Services to provide financial oversight and
management for all billable hours and expenses in the assigned
Supportive Housing program including waiver billing and one time
funding. • Possess knowledge of existing quality service
regulations established by DDS and ensure adherence to those
quality assurance expectations set by CCARC. • Demonstrates
effective interpersonal skills which enhance communication between
individuals and staff. • Provide 24-hour on-call administrative
availability in case of emergency to supportive housing staff and
individuals. • Provides regular supervision at supportive housing
sites when individuals are at home to ensure consumer satisfaction
Other Related Responsibilities: • Cooperative, versatile, work as a
team member. • Keep informed of and implement current trends and
methods in agreement with CCARC policy and procedures. • Organize
and participate in team meetings within the Residential Services as
needed to include but not limited to individual (resident)
meetings, residential staff meetings, clinical staff meetings and
any other Interdisciplinary Team meetings. • Maintain open
communication with the participants, the families/guardians, staff,
DDS staff and any/all interested parties. • Become certified to
complete assistive technology assessments. The above statements are

tasks and duties may be assigned as necessary. Technology
Requirements: • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft
Office Word and Excel, Outlook, and be comfortable using tablets
and smartphones along with other general office equipment. •
Ability to work with and understand databases a must and the
ability to learn technical skills. • Ability to work with and learn
various pieces of assistive and enabling technology with the goal
of increasing each individual’s independence. • Experience with
THERAP, Sandata EVV systems preferred. Education and/or Work
Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field,
minimum experience required would be 2 years in the field of
developmental disabilities and supervisory experience preferred or
High School/GED, minimum experience required would be 4 years in
the field of developmental disabilities and supervisory experience
preferred. • Must complete the Agency’s Certification and training
as required for this position. • Must have valid Driver’s License
and be insurable with Agency carrier and have own vehicle to use,
as needed. • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Physical Requirements: • Persons in this job must possess the
physical and emotional health needed for effective and efficient
completion of duties • Individuals in this job are likely to be
required to perform lifting and transferring activities and may be
required to restrain residents /program participants; may be
exposed to risk of injury from abusive/assaultive residents
