The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and proficiency in AutoCAD to create and modify system drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.



Responsibilities

- Develop detailed 2D CAD drawings of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, lighting, fire alarm systems etc.) from engineer's sketches and markups

- Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and completeness

- Revise drawings based on redlines, feedback, and field changes

- Maintain drawing organization and adhere to company CAD standards

- Assist in preparing drawing sets for permit, bid, and construction

- Collaborate with other design disciplines (e.g., architectural, structural) to resolve potential conflicts



Qualifications

- Proficiency in AutoCAD (minimum 2-3 years of experience)

- Experience with mechanical system drawings (HVAC, plumbing) is required

- Understanding of building codes and mechanical design standards

- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and blueprints

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

- Experience with Revit or other BIM tools is a plus

- Associate degree or certification in CAD drafting or related field preferred
