Job Description:

Alaris Health at West Orange - Alaris Health at West Orange, a 120 bed-skilled nursing Center in West Orange, New Jersey, seeks a maintenance director to be responsible for the overall maintenance operation of the Center. Additional responsibilities include:

• 
  
• supervising the maintenance department including performing "hands on" maintenance and repair work
  
• keeping the building in good repair and free of electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling systems hazards
  
• maintaining the fire alarm and emergency generator system in good working order, performing weekly tests on the fire alarm and emergency generator systems and keeping records of tests results
  
• orienting and instructing all maintenance personnel and recruiting and interviewing new hires
  
• reviewing and evaluating personnel's work performance and designating work assignments and duty schedules
  
• and above all, ensuring that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individual's needs and rights
  
  JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  
  • 
    
  • High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating and HVAC systems
    
  • Ability to perform essential job functions and maintain equipment
    
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and supervisory experience
    
  • Knowledge and operational implementation of life safety code regulations
    
  • Ability to work well with others on a variety of professional levels
