We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic Benefits &
Payroll Specialist to join our growing New York Team!About DO &

- Salary range: $70,000- $75,000.

- Process payroll for approximately 800 employees in accordance
with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Provide new employees with a comprehensive explanation of
benefits and guide them through enrollment and fulfillment
procedures.
- Administer COBRA processes in compliance with regulations.
- Partner with the HR team to apply LOAs, FMLA usage, and other
leave requirements per company policy and legal mandates.
- Assist employees with enrollment in medical, dental, and vision
insurance plans, and inform them of any changes to benefits
structures.
- Handle all workers' compensation claims and liaise with
insurance brokers on claim issues.
- Resolve employee inquiries and issues with insurance providers
and benefits administrators.
- Ensure eligible employees are enrolled in benefits plans
accurately and on time.
- Review and reconcile weekly payroll deductions and general
ledger payroll transactions.
- Prepare and distribute paper checks for employees without
direct deposit, and collect banking information for direct deposit
setup.
- Keep current on salary, benefits taxation, and garnishment
orders; process garnishments and related payroll adjustments.
- Maintain and document all payroll records, conduct semi -
annual payroll audits, and detect/resolve uncollected payroll
issues.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll and union dues,
ensuring dues and CBA increases are processed accurately.
- Reconcile time - off entries for union pay groups and process
payments accordingly.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in benefits and payroll
administration.
- Experience in a labor union preferred, including handling union
pay groups and related processes.
- Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws
and regulations.
- Proficiency with Windows - based applications and HRIS/payroll
software systems, particularly Ceridian Dayforce.
- Strong experience in payroll processing, garnishments, wage
attachments, and semi - annual audits.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast - paced
environment with a hands - on, sense - of - urgency approach.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to double - check
work and ensure accuracy in data and calculations.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the
ability to collaborate across functions and levels.Diversity &
