Job Description:
Job Description Job Description Position Summary Are you
naturally hands-on, curious, and driven to solve hard problems?
JAKTOOL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with strong CNC
programming experience to support precision prototype services.
This role owns the translation of engineering intent into robust,
repeatable manufacturing processes—including design collaboration,
CAM programming, fixturing, validation, and continuous
improvement—in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This is not
a passive role. It requires independent judgment, technical
ownership, and flexibility to meet project-driven demands. The work
is challenging and often ambiguous, and success depends on your
ability to think critically, make decisions, and adapt as designs
evolve. You’ll collaborate with others who take pride in tackling
difficult problems and delivering solutions that push beyond what’s
considered possible. If you’re motivated by learning, ownership,
and growth, we’d like to grow together. Day in the Life On any
given day, you may independently evaluate new customer drawings,
determine manufacturability risks, and define machining and
fixturing strategies to meet technical, quality, and schedule
requirements. You will develop and refine CNC programs, make
process decisions based on engineering judgment, and validate
results through inspection and iterative improvement. Your work is
project-driven rather than task-based. You’ll prioritize competing
technical demands, collaborate across engineering and operations,
and exercise discretion in how problems are solved. Time may be
spent at a workstation programming, on the shop floor validating
processes, or in design and review discussions—depending on project
needs. Success in this role is measured by the quality,
reliability, and effectiveness of the manufacturing processes you
develop. You are expected to manage your workload, make independent
decisions, and take ownership of outcomes in a fast-paced prototype
environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and own CNC machining
strategies and programs for precision prototype parts, from initial
setup through first article, iterative refinement and manufacturing
transfer Design and document complex manufacturing processes ,
including: Tooling selection Workholding and fixturing Machining
and finishing strategies Work instructions and control plans Create
and modify CAM programs (i.e. Mastercam) with attention to:
Toolpath strategy Feeds and speeds Tool life, surface finish, and
cycle time Design and fabricate custom fixtures and tooling to
support prototyping and qualification cycles Apply GD&T
principles to machining and inspection strategies Perform and
interpret precision inspection using micrometers, bore gages,
optical comparator, and other metrology tools Troubleshoot
machining and process issues using root-cause analysis and
implement corrective actions Collaborate with design, engineering,
and operations to support design reviews and manufacturability
decisions Support scheduling and resource planning to meet
aggressive prototype timelines. Identify and implement continuous
improvement opportunities in programming, setups, and process
