Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. This role involves working closely with students who have special needs, providing tailored instructional strategies and individualized support to foster academic growth and development. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) based on students unique needs Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various learning abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and families to support student success Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and reports Manage classroom behaviors with positive reinforcement techniques and maintain a safe learning environment Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current with special education best practices Travel to different school locations as required to provide consistent support Preferred Qualifications: Valid Special Education teaching certification Experience teaching students with a range of disabilities and learning challenges Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere Flexibility and willingness to travel between school sites within the region Location: Waterbury, Connecticut This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students lives by providing specialized instruction tailored to individual needs.
