The security industry is exciting, and the company offers opportunities for growth and advancement, all while maintaining a family atmosphere.Position Overview: The Senior Accountant will prepare journal entries, financial reports, and account reconciliations. They will also conduct variance analysis and assist with tax returns and audit preparations, as well as perform other accounting duties as assigned. In our fast paced and growing environment, you may also have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including mergers & acquisitions.Key Competencies:Highly detail-oriented and organizedProven work experience as a Senior Accountant to meet deadlines and to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employeesAnalytical and problem-solving skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsConfidentiality in handling sensitive financial informationFamiliarity with accounting software and programsProficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas) Key Responsibilities:Senior Accountant prepares completed account analysis and reconciliation of cash on a daily basis and posts corresponding journal entriesPrepares and completes journal entries by closing date on a monthly basisEnsures accuracy of account balances and prepares account reconciliationsPerforms month-end financial variance analysesAssists with monthly billing process and analysisAnalyzes complex financial reports and recordsAssists with financial audits and tax preparationCoordinates more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departmentsMaintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures, familiarity with GAAP, as well as an ability to grasp company financial policies and protocolsProvides additional support to the VP of Finance & Accounting and other members of the executive team as requested Performs other related duties as assignedPhysical demands, work environment, and attendance requirements: The physical demands, work environment, and attendance requirements characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the Senior Accountant to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Attendance requirements: This position is salaried exempt.Requirements: 3+ years of accounting experienceEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Equivalent education and experience considered.
